tnPortFlowControlCurrentRx
Module: TN-PORT-MIB
OID (symbolic): TN-PORT-MIB::tnPortFlowControlCurrentRx
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.141.1.1.1.4
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-only
Description: When Auto Speed is selected on a port, this section indicates the flow control capability that is advertised to the link partner. When a fixed-speed setting is selected, that is what is used. The Current Rx indicates whether pause frames on the port are obeyed. The Rx settings are determined by the result of the last Auto-Negotiation.
What is tnPortFlowControlCurrentRx?
This read-only INTEGER, enable(1) or disable(2), reports whether the port currently obeys received pause frames, with the value determined by the result of the last auto-negotiation (or the fixed setting if a fixed speed is configured). An admin checks it to confirm whether this port will actually throttle its own transmission in response to pause frames from the link partner. Seeing tnPortFlowControlCurrentRx as disable(2) on a port expected to honor flow control would explain why that port isn't backing off when the downstream device sends pause frames.
