This read-write setting controls whether Spanning Tree (STP/RSTP/MSTP) frames, identified by destination MAC 01-80-C2-00-00-00, are passed through or discarded at this port. Admins set this to 'discard' on a port acting as a transparent Layer 2 tunnel where STP BPDUs from a customer network shouldn't reach the provider's spanning tree.
