Description: This shows the configuration mode of the device. The device may have a jumper or switch that disables software management of the device. When Configuration Mode is hardware(2), the devices take some of the configurations from dip switches or jumpers on the device. In software(1) mode all configurations are controlled by management.
What is tnDevConfigurationMode?
This read-only value reports whether the device is in 'software' mode (all configuration controlled via management, e.g. SNMP/CLI) or 'hardware' mode (some settings instead come from physical DIP switches or jumpers on the unit). Admins check this first when a setting they push via management doesn't seem to take effect — it may be overridden by a hardware switch.
