Description: A preset level for Rx Power on the Fiber port, if the DMI read value falls below the preset value, an intrusion is detected, and a trap is generated.
What is tnDMIRxPwrLvlPreset?
This OID sets a threshold for minimum light power on a fiber optic port; if power drops below it, an intrusion (physical tampering) is suspected and an alarm is raised. It protects against fiber damage or disconnection. A network operator sets this to the manufacturer's normal signal level so any significant drop immediately alerts the team to investigate.
