tnMacPortMembers

Module: TN-MAC-MIB

OID (symbolic): TN-MAC-MIB::tnMacPortMembers

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.142.1.4.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: PortList

Access: read-only

Description: The ports that are members of the entry. The value of this object in high 8 bits describe the status from the first port to last port. In low 8 bits, the valus of first bit is the status of port mgmt, while the second is the status of port cpu, the default value of other bits are zero.

What is tnMacPortMembers?

This read-only PortList reports which ports are associated with a learned MAC address table entry, packed as a bitmap where the high 8 bits cover regular front-panel ports in order and the low 8 bits are reserved, with bit 1 flagging the management port and bit 2 flagging the CPU port. An admin reads this to see exactly which physical or internal port(s) a given MAC address (static or dynamic) was learned on or associated with, useful for tracing where a device is physically connected. For example, a nonzero value in the management-port bit position would indicate that entry corresponds to the switch's own management interface rather than a front-panel port.
