tnLoopProtectShutdownTime

Module: TN-LOOP-PROTECT-MIB

OID (symbolic): TN-LOOP-PROTECT-MIB::tnLoopProtectShutdownTime

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.22.1.1.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The period (in seconds) for which a port will be kept disabled in the event of a loop is detected (and the port action shuts down the port). Valid values are 0 to 604800 seconds (7 days). A value of zero will keep a port disabled (until next device restart).

What is tnLoopProtectShutdownTime?

This read-write value sets, in seconds up to 604800 (7 days), how long a port stays disabled after a loop is detected and the port's action includes shutting it down, with a value of zero keeping the port disabled until the next device restart. An admin tunes this to control whether a looped port recovers automatically after a cool-down period or requires manual intervention (via a value of zero) to bring it back up. For example, setting this object to zero on a port with a history of repeated loop events forces an admin to manually re-enable that port rather than letting it recover on its own.
