Module: TN-LOAM-EXT-MIB
OID (symbolic): TN-LOAM-EXT-MIB::tnLOAMIfModeCtrl
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.7.1.1.1.1.1

Description: This object can be used to provision the Link OAM mode for this interface. In auto(1) mode , the interface is set to active/passive depending on if the device is in a chassis or stand-alone. Applicable to Chassis based products. In manual(2) mode lets the user choose the Link OAM mode (active/passive).
What is tnLOAMIfModeCtrl?
This value selects how an interface's Link OAM (IEEE 802.3ah) role is determined: auto(1) lets the device decide active or passive based on whether it's in a chassis or standalone, while manual(2) lets the administrator explicitly choose the Link OAM mode themselves. A network administrator sets this when they need to force a specific interface into active mode to initiate OAM discovery with a remote peer rather than relying on the device's automatic default. For example, setting tnLOAMIfModeCtrl to manual(2) on an uplink interface lets the admin then explicitly configure it as the active OAM peer.
