fwDownloadAction

Module: TN-DEV-SYS-UPGRADER-MIB

OID (symbolic): TN-DEV-SYS-UPGRADER-MIB::fwDownloadAction

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.3.1.1.30.1.7.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: When this object is set to downloadToActive(2) or downloadToBackup(3), the device upgrades and continues until it is time to reset. It will then begin download of the image specified by fwDownloadFile from the server specified by fwDownloadTFTPServer using the TFTP protocol. If downloadToBackup(3) is specified, the new image is downloaded as the backup image and the device waits for the user to do active this image and reset the device. If downloadToActive(2) is specified, the new image is written to the flash EPROM memory after its checksum has been verified to be correct. When the download process is completed, the device will warm boot to restart the newly loaded application. When the device is not downloading, this object will have a value of notDownloading(1). Selecting swap(4) will swap the current and backup firmware

What is fwDownloadAction?

Triggers a firmware download on this stand-alone switch: downloadToActive(2) pulls the image into active flash and warm-boots when done, downloadToBackup(3) stores it as the backup image pending manual activation, and swap(4) exchanges the current and backup images; the object reads back notDownloading(1) when idle.
