fibTmuPortsAllowedAddr

Module: TMU-MIB

OID (symbolic): TMU-MIB::fibTmuPortsAllowedAddr

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.22.60.5.29.1.25

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: MacAddress

Access: read-write

Description: This is the one physical address allowed to be on this Tmu port (provided a single station is attached to it and not a Tau). The value loaded in fibTmuPortsAllowedAddrLoaded below determines the state of this object. Writing to this object stores the address in non-volatile memory. It also makes security on this port active provided fibTmuSecurityModeRun has bit0 set. Loading will not be carried out if fibTmuNumStationLeft is 0 (no more space in non-volatile memory). In that case, an error will be returned (genErr = 5).

What is fibTmuPortsAllowedAddr?

This is the single mac address allowed on this Tmu port when a single station (not a Tau) is attached and station security is active; writing to it stores the address in non-volatile memory and activates security on this port, provided fibTmuSecurityModeRun has bit0 set. The write will fail (an error is returned) if fibTmuNumStationLeft is 0. Admins set it to lock a specific port to one known device's mac address as a basic port-security control. For example, this stops an unauthorized device from being plugged into a locked-down port and joining the ring.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TMU-MIB::fibTmuPortsAllowedAddr

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.22.60.5.29.1.25.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TMU-MIB::fibTmuPortsAllowedAddr.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.22.60.5.29.1.25.1 s <value>
