Module: TMU-MIB

OID (symbolic): TMU-MIB::fibTmuNumEventErrs

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.22.60.1.1

Description: Cyclic counter. Indicates how many times the event-handler procedure has been called with the 'ERR' severity level or higher.

What is fibTmuNumEventErrs?

This cyclic counter tallies how many times the internal event handler has been invoked with the 'ERR' severity level or higher. Admins poll it as a coarse health indicator for the Tmu (Token ring MAU/concentrator) unit -- a steadily climbing count means the box is logging serious internal errors even if the ring itself looks stable. For example, this counter rising without a corresponding ring-status alarm would prompt an admin to check the device's internal fault log for a developing hardware problem.
