fibTmuFunctInsPatPerm

Module: TMU-MIB

OID (symbolic): TMU-MIB::fibTmuFunctInsPatPerm

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.22.60.8.2.11

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Parameter for controlling the aging of the 'inseretion-pool' (Should be long enough to make sure that the station is not malfunctioning). Units: milli seconds. Minimal value: 1500. maximal value 4000. Factory default: 3000 Setting this variable loads it into non volatile memory. The value written into non volatile memory is loaded into the current value only after reset.

What is fibTmuFunctInsPatPerm?

This sets, in non-volatile memory, the aging parameter for the 'insertion pool', long enough to confirm an inserting station isn't malfunctioning before it's considered stable. Valid range is 1500 to 4000 (milliseconds); factory default is 3000. Setting this object stores the new value for the next reset, but does not change the currently-effective fibTmuFunctInsPatRun value until the system is actually reset. Admins tune this to balance how quickly a newly-inserted station is trusted against the risk of trusting a station that's about to misbehave, then schedule a reset to apply the change.
