fibTmuFunctForceStpRiPerm

Module: TMU-MIB

OID (symbolic): TMU-MIB::fibTmuFunctForceStpRiPerm

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.22.60.8.2.21

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object is used to control the type of the trunk (OPTIC or STP). Algorithm: if (optic-module-exists && do-not-force-ri-stp) { ri-trunk-type = OPTIC ; } else { /* * This is the case of: NO-OPTIC-MODULE or * FORCING-THE-TRUNK-TO-STP */ ri-trunk-type = STP ; } Factory default: FALSE (1). Setting this variable loads it into non volatile memory. The value written into non volatile memory is loaded into the current value only after reset.

What is fibTmuFunctForceStpRiPerm?

This sets, in non-volatile memory, whether the ring-in trunk type is forced to STP (shielded twisted pair) rather than being auto-detected as OPTIC when an optic module is present. Valid range is a boolean (FALSE/TRUE); factory default is FALSE. Setting this object stores the new value for the next reset, but does not change the currently-effective fibTmuFunctForceStpRiRun value until the system is actually reset. Admins enable this to force STP wiring on ring-in even if an optic module is installed, or leave disabled to let the optic module take precedence when present, then schedule a reset to apply the change.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TMU-MIB::fibTmuFunctForceStpRiPerm

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.22.60.8.2.21.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TMU-MIB::fibTmuFunctForceStpRiPerm.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.22.60.8.2.21.1 i <value>
