dot1xPortEtherTunnel

Module: TIMETRA-SAS-IEEE8021-PAE-MIB

OID (symbolic): TIMETRA-SAS-IEEE8021-PAE-MIB::dot1xPortEtherTunnel

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.6.2.2.2.16.1.1.1.150

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: The value of tmnxPortEtherDot1xTunnel specifies whether the DOT1X packet tunneling for the ethernet port is enabled or disabled. When tunneling is enabled, the port will not process any DOT1X packets but will tunnel them through instead.

What is dot1xPortEtherTunnel?

This flag controls whether 802.1X (DOT1X) authentication packets arriving on this Ethernet port are processed locally by the switch or instead tunneled straight through untouched. When enabled, the switch stops inspecting or terminating DOT1X frames on that port and simply passes them along, which matters in scenarios like transparent LAN services where 802.1X traffic needs to reach an upstream device unmodified. For example, a service provider offering a Layer-2 pass-through service might enable this on a customer-facing port so the customer's own 802.1X authentication traffic reaches their equipment on the other end instead of being intercepted.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TIMETRA-SAS-IEEE8021-PAE-MIB::dot1xPortEtherTunnel

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.6.2.2.2.16.1.1.1.150.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TIMETRA-SAS-IEEE8021-PAE-MIB::dot1xPortEtherTunnel.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.6.2.2.2.16.1.1.1.150.1 s <value>
