Description: The compression algorithm that will be used by the agent to compress the value of the TAgMO. The deflate algorithm and corresponding data format specification is described in RFC 1951. It is compatible with the widely used gzip utility.
What is tAggrCtlCompressionAlgorithm?
This enumerated value selects whether the agent compresses the aggregated data with the deflate algorithm (RFC 1951, gzip-compatible) or leaves it uncompressed. Admins enable deflate compression to reduce the size of tAggrDataRecordCompressed when retrieving large aggregated datasets over SNMP. The default none(1) leaves data uncompressed; setting it to deflate(2) compresses the aggregated samples before they're returned in tAggrDataRecordCompressed.
