dnsResQueueFull

Module: TIGER

OID (symbolic): TIGER::dnsResQueueFull

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1978.2.1.10.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-only

Description: The number of occurences when DNS responses were not cached because the cache queue was full.

What is dnsResQueueFull?

This read-only counter tracks how many times a DNS response could not be cached because the internal cache queue, rather than the cache table itself, was full. It is a distinct failure mode from dnsResCacheFull, pointing at queuing capacity rather than storage capacity. Admins treat a rising value as a sign of DNS resolution load outpacing the resolver's internal processing queue.
