apathConnectTimerMax

Module: TIGER

OID (symbolic): TIGER::apathConnectTimerMax

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1978.2.1.6.2.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: (1..1000 seconds) default=30 This amount of time is allowed for the underlying connection to take place, before Apath will begin polling the other end for a path connection. i.e.

TimeTillDeclaredDead = apathConnectTimerMax + (apathResponseTimerMax * apathRetryCounterMax)

UNITS=seconds

What is apathConnectTimerMax?

This read-write value, from 1 to 1000 seconds and defaulting to 30, is how long the underlying connection is given to establish before Apath begins polling the far end for a path-level connection. Combined with apathResponseTimerMax and apathRetryCounterMax, it determines the total time before an unresponsive path is declared dead, per the formula given in the MIB (connect timer plus response timer times retry count). Admins tune it based on how long the underlying transport realistically takes to connect.
