redTxMinThreshold
Module: TIARA-QOS-MIB
OID (symbolic): TIARA-QOS-MIB::redTxMinThreshold
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3174.2.17.1.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-write
Description: This is the threshold at which RED begins dropping packets. When the average queue size for a WAN interface increases above the minimum threshold, RED drops packets with a certain probability that increases linearly as the average queue size increases from the minimum to the maximum threshold. Below the minimum threshold, RED allows all packets. When a WAN interface is created, the minimum threshold is initialized to a value that is dependent on the bandwidth of the interface. Setting the minimum threshold to less than this value may cause unnecessary packet drops at close to 100% utilization.
What is redTxMinThreshold?
Sets the average transmit queue size at which RED starts dropping packets on this WAN interface, with drop probability increasing linearly up to the maximum threshold; below this value RED lets all packets through. It's initialized based on the interface's bandwidth, and setting it lower than that default can cause unnecessary drops even at moderate utilization.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.3174.2.17.1.1.2 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TIARA-QOS-MIB::redTxMinThreshold
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.3174.2.17.1.1.2.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TIARA-QOS-MIB::redTxMinThreshold.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.3174.2.17.1.1.2.1 i <value>
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> redTxMinThreshold.1
