redTxMaxThreshold

Module: TIARA-QOS-MIB

OID (symbolic): TIARA-QOS-MIB::redTxMaxThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3174.2.17.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: This is the upper limit for the average queue size for a given WAN interface. If the average queue size exceeds this value, RED drops all packets that are destined for that WAN interface. When a WAN interface is created, the maximum threshold is initialized to three times the minimum threshold. Setting maximum threshold to greater than two times minimum threshold is recommended for proper operation.

What is redTxMaxThreshold?

Sets the upper limit for the average transmit queue size on this WAN interface; if the average queue size goes above this value, RED (Random Early Detection) drops all packets destined for that interface. It's initialized to three times the minimum threshold, and Tiara recommends keeping it above twice the minimum for proper operation.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.3174.2.17.1.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TIARA-QOS-MIB::redTxMaxThreshold

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.3174.2.17.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TIARA-QOS-MIB::redTxMaxThreshold.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.3174.2.17.1.1.1.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> redTxMaxThreshold.1
