hssiDteLoopback

Module: TIARA-HSSI-MIB

OID (symbolic): TIARA-HSSI-MIB::hssiDteLoopback

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3174.2.7.2.1.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: Configures the local DTE for loopback operation:

TRUE : request local DTE to go into line loopback FALSE : request local DTE to abandon line loopback

These commands are valid only if the HSSI adaptor is in DCE mode and connected to a local DTE. Since the local DTE has a greater loopback priority than the local DCE, a loopback request initiated by the DCE will be ignored if the DTE simultaneously requests the DCE to loopback. Similarly, the DTE will abort a loopback already initiated by the DCE when the DTE requests the DCE to loopback.

What is hssiDteLoopback?

This read-write TruthValue requests the locally attached DTE to enter (true) or exit (false) line loopback, and is only meaningful when the local HSSI adapter is in DCE mode connected to that DTE. Because the DTE has higher loopback priority than the DCE, a DCE-initiated loopback is ignored if the DTE simultaneously requests one, and the DTE can abort a DCE-initiated loopback by requesting its own. An admin testing the local DTE's line interface would set hssiDteLoopback to true, verify the loop, then set it back to false to release it.
