Module: TELDAT-MON-FEATURES-TIDP-MASTER-MIB

OID (symbolic): TELDAT-MON-FEATURES-TIDP-MASTER-MIB::tidpMasterEquipmentSerial

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2007.4.1.2.4.5.2.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: Serial number of the equipment being managed. The management process can be performed using hostname or serial number. If it is going to be based on serial number, this variable must be set with the apropriate value before launch the management process. Otherwise, this variable takes a realiable value only when tidpMasterEquipmentStatus is managing(2).

What is tidpMasterEquipmentSerial?

This read-write string holds the serial number of the router being managed; per the description, if management is serial-number-based this must be set before launching the management process, otherwise it only holds a reliable value once tidpMasterEquipmentStatus reaches managing(2). Admins set it when adding a new router entry to be managed by serial number rather than hostname. An admin adding a new router by serial number would set this object to "SN1234567890" before setting tidpMasterEquipmentCommand to manage(1).
