agentTacacsSourceInterface

Module: TACACS-CLIENT-MIB

OID (symbolic): TACACS-CLIENT-MIB::agentTacacsSourceInterface

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4413.1.1.18.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: InterfaceIndexOrZero

Access: read-write

Description: A source-interface selection on an Interface Index (like vlan based routing interface, port based routing interface, loopback interface). A non-zero value indicates ifIndex for the corresponding interface entry in the ifTable is selected. A zero value indicates the source-interface un-selection.

What is agentTacacsSourceInterface?

This value selects the source interface, by ifIndex, that the device uses when originating TACACS+ traffic, such as a VLAN, port-based routing, or loopback interface; a value of zero means no source interface is selected. An admin sets this to pin outbound TACACS+ requests to a stable source address, such as a loopback, for consistent server-side ACL matching. For example, setting agentTacacsSourceInterface to a loopback interface's ifIndex ensures TACACS+ requests always originate from that stable management address regardless of the egress physical port.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4413.1.1.18.1.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TACACS-CLIENT-MIB::agentTacacsSourceInterface

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4413.1.1.18.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TACACS-CLIENT-MIB::agentTacacsSourceInterface.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4413.1.1.18.1.1.3.1 s <value>
