interfaceExtSignalDirection

Module: SYMMINTERFACEEXT

OID (symbolic): SYMMINTERFACEEXT::interfaceExtSignalDirection

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9070.1.2.5.6.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CLOCKDIRECTION

Access: read-write

Description: Interface clock signal direction. It can be input(1), output(2), both(3), or none(4). None means the interface is disabled. Only Ethernet and VLAN interfaces can be 'both.'

What is interfaceExtSignalDirection?

This read-write enumerated value sets the interface's clock signal direction: input(1), output(2), both(3), or none(4), with none meaning the interface is disabled; only Ethernet and VLAN interfaces can be set to 'both.' Admins set this to configure whether a given timing interface receives a reference clock, distributes one, or both. For example, an admin sets this to output(2) on a T1 interface that should distribute the device's synchronized clock to downstream equipment, or to both(3) on an Ethernet interface used for PTP that both sends and receives timing.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9070.1.2.5.6.1.1.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SYMMINTERFACEEXT::interfaceExtSignalDirection

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9070.1.2.5.6.1.1.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SYMMINTERFACEEXT::interfaceExtSignalDirection.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9070.1.2.5.6.1.1.1.5.1 s <value>
