The current state of this AP within the WLAP spanning-tree-like protocol, moving through power-up states (initializing, sending-probe, send-assoc-req, send-cfg-bpdu, wait-for-probe, send-Probe-rsp, send-assoc-rsp, send-cfg-rsp, received-root-rsp) and settling into an operational state (root-wlap-lost, disabled, or functional). Admins read this to see exactly where in mesh establishment (or failure) this AP currently sits.
