What is mibFinder?

This read-write string is used internally by the Sun Management Center agent to locate a specific MIB node by name or path. An admin or the management console would set this value to search the agent's loaded MIB tree rather than walking it manually.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.42.2.12.2.1.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SUN-MIB2::mibFinder

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.42.2.12.2.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SUN-MIB2::mibFinder.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.42.2.12.2.1.1.1.1 s <value>
