streamsAdmnMaxStorage

Module: STREAMS-MIB

OID (symbolic): STREAMS-MIB::streamsAdmnMaxStorage

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.539.16.4.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: T B S

What is streamsAdmnMaxStorage?

This configuration value sets the maximum amount of memory this STREAMS subsystem is allowed to allocate for its buffers, queues, and other internal structures for the STREAMS I/O subsystem on this host. The source MIB's own DESCRIPTION for this object is only the placeholder text "T B S" (to be supplied), so this reading is inferred from the object's name, its position in the STREAMS admin table (whose table-level DESCRIPTION says it holds "configuration information for a STREAMS subsystem"), and its Integer32 syntax; administrators raise it if the subsystem is running out of resources under heavy load, or lower it to cap how much memory STREAMS can consume.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.539.16.4.1.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> STREAMS-MIB::streamsAdmnMaxStorage

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.539.16.4.1.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> STREAMS-MIB::streamsAdmnMaxStorage.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.539.16.4.1.1.2.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> streamsAdmnMaxStorage.1
