What is stnIfType?
This read-only StnInterfaceType value classifies the kind of interface, such as ethernet, sonet, epif, or ds3. Admins use it to filter or group interfaces by media type when auditing the chassis inventory or building monitoring dashboards. For example, stnIfType returning sonet(3) tells an admin this port is a SONET link rather than an Ethernet port.
