Category: Stacking / Clustering, ZTE
Description: Manages ZTE switch stacking topology, unit roles, inter-unit links, and stack-wide configuration.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is STACK-MIB?
This STACK-MIB is a proprietary ZTE switch MIB for managing multi-unit switch stack topology and system identity. It exposes system-level configuration/status data - MAC address, management IP address, subnet mask - alongside a per-stack-member table with device ID, device type, and MAC address for each unit in the stack. Its monitoring emphasis is on hardware/stack health: confirming all expected stack members are present and correctly identified, and checking master/slave data-sync status to detect a stack member whose configuration database has fallen out of sync after a topology change or reboot. It complements standard SNMPv2-MIB system-group conventions and the standard IF-MIB for per-interface counters within the stack. Typical deployment is ZTE-branded stackable switches in enterprise/campus network closets. Engineers can download the STACK-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in STACK-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ZTE stackable switch
Monitoring Examples
sysStkDeviceInfoTable/Entry lists each stack unit's sysStkDeviceID, sysStkDeviceType, and sysMemDeviceMacAddr, letting an admin confirm all expected units are present in the stack and correctly identified. sysMasterSlaveDataSynStatus indicates whether the master and slave units' configuration databases are synchronized - a non-synced status would flag a stack member that failed to receive the latest config after a stack topology change or reboot.
What Can Be Monitored
- stack member device ID and type
- stack member MAC address
- master/slave data sync status
- management IP address
- system MAC address/aging time
