snmpStorageControl
Module: SNMP-STORAGE-MIB
OID (symbolic): SNMP-STORAGE-MIB::snmpStorageControl
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.99999.63.1.5.1.4
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Setting this object to write(2) causes the agent to sync not yet committed non-volatile MIB data to stable storage.
Setting this object to write(2) while the value of the snmpStorageStatus object is writing(3) leads to an inconsitent value error.
Setting this object to nop(1) always succeeds and has no effect.
Management applications are advised to make use of the snmpSetSerialNo object defined in the SNMPv2-MIB to coordinate their use of this object.
What is snmpStorageControl?
snmpStorageControl is a read-write control object that, when set to write(2), causes the agent to sync not-yet-committed non-volatile MIB data covered by this specific row to stable storage, per its description, mirroring snmpStorageGlobControl but scoped to just this row. An admin uses this to commit only a specific subset of configuration (as described by snmpStorageDescr) rather than triggering a full device-wide save; setting it to write(2) while snmpStorageStatus is already writing(3) causes an inconsistent value error. For example, an admin who changed only interface settings might set the snmpStorageControl for the interface-data row to write(2) instead of using the global control, to save just that subset.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.99999.63.1.5.1.4 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SNMP-STORAGE-MIB::snmpStorageControl
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.99999.63.1.5.1.4.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SNMP-STORAGE-MIB::snmpStorageControl.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.99999.63.1.5.1.4.1 i <value>
