rptrAddrTrackCapacity

Module: SNMP-REPEATER-MIB

OID (symbolic): SNMP-REPEATER-MIB::rptrAddrTrackCapacity

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.22.3.3.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-only

Description: The maximum number of addresses that can be detected on this port. This value indicates to the maximum number of entries in the rptrExtAddrTrackTable relative to this port.

If this object has the value of 1, the agent implements only the LastSourceAddress mechanism described by RFC 1368 or RFC 1516.

What is rptrAddrTrackCapacity?

This object specifies the maximum number of MAC addresses that can be detected and tracked on a repeater port, indicating the size capacity of the address tracking table for that port. It helps an operator understand the management agent's ability to monitor source addresses; if the value is 1, only the most recent source address (LastSourceAddress mechanism) is tracked. Operators check this during network planning to determine address tracking capabilities when monitoring Ethernet repeaters and hubs.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.22.3.3.1.1.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SNMP-REPEATER-MIB::rptrAddrTrackCapacity

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.22.3.3.1.1.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SNMP-REPEATER-MIB::rptrAddrTrackCapacity.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> rptrAddrTrackCapacity.1
