Description: Single character denoting the scheduling state of the process (resp. the 'representative' LWP). Useful values are: O Process is running on a processor. S Sleeping: process is waiting for an event to complete. R Runnable: process is on run queue. I Idle: process is being created. Z Zombie state: process terminated and parent not waiting. T Traced: process stopped by a signal because parent is tracing it. X SXBRK state: process is waiting for more primary memory.
What is sniUXProcessState?
Single-character scheduling state of the process: O (running), S (sleeping), R (runnable), I (being created), Z (zombie — terminated but not reaped by its parent), T (stopped/traced), or X (waiting for memory) — a lingering Z is a classic sign of a parent process failing to reap its children.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.231.2.10.2.5.4.10.1.11 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SNI-UNIX-MIB::sniUXProcessState
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.231.2.10.2.5.4.10.1.11.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SNI-UNIX-MIB::sniUXProcessState.1
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> sniUXProcessState.1
