For example '13.281.11.12' or '3FFE:2A00:100:7031::1'. See: IP Version 6 Addressing Architecture (RFC 2373).

See: Format for Literal IPv6 Addresses in URLs (RFC 2732).

What is slpAddressOrName?

This object holds the address of a remote SLP directory or service agent, formatted as a dotted-decimal IPv4 address, a colon-delimited IPv6 address, or a fully qualified DNS name. An admin uses this value to know exactly which remote agent a given row refers to when checking network reachability or firewall rules between SLP peers. For example, a value of '10.1.2.3' or 'da1.example.com' identifies the remote directory agent's address.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.999.1.3.1.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SERVICE-LOCATION-PROTOCOL-MIB::slpAddressOrName

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.999.1.3.1.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SERVICE-LOCATION-PROTOCOL-MIB::slpAddressOrName.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> slpAddressOrName.1
