Module: SCTP-MIB
OID (symbolic): SCTP-MIB::sctpOutOfBlues
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.104.1.1.6
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Counter32
Access: read-only
Description: The number of out of the blue packets received by the host. An out of the blue packet is an SCTP packet correctly formed, including the proper checksum, but for which the receiver was unable to identify an appropriate association.
What is sctpOutOfBlues?
This counter tracks the number of correctly-formed SCTP packets (valid checksum included) received for which no matching association could be found. A rising count can indicate stale connections on the remote end, port scanning, or misdirected traffic.
