psProtocolVersion

Module: SCTE-HMS-PS-MIB

OID (symbolic): SCTE-HMS-PS-MIB::psProtocolVersion

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5591.1.4.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Version of the SCTE HMS protocol implemented in the monitored equipment. The 'Protocol Version' implementation will comply with the defined protocol in the SCTE 25-3 (formerly HMS 022) document with the corresponding revision number.

Example: A power supply implementing all commands and responses defined in SCTE 25-3 (formerly HMS 022) would return a value of 10 (decimal) in this field, reflecting major revision 1, minor revision 0.

Any number returned that is less than 10 reflects a version of the SCTE 25-3 specification that had not yet been approved by SCTE.

What is psProtocolVersion?

This reports the SCTE HMS protocol revision (1-254) implemented by the monitored power supply's firmware, e.g. 10 for major revision 1.0 per SCTE 25-3. A value below 10 flags a pre-standard protocol version, meaning some newer optional fields in this MIB may not be populated correctly.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5591.1.4.2.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SCTE-HMS-PS-MIB::psProtocolVersion

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5591.1.4.2.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SCTE-HMS-PS-MIB::psProtocolVersion.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> psProtocolVersion.1
