saviObjectsSystemMaxDadPrepareDelay

Module: SAVI-MIB

OID (symbolic): SAVI-MIB::saviObjectsSystemMaxDadPrepareDelay

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.4.40.1.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TimeInterval

Description: A constant. When a DHCPv4 DHCPACK or DHCPv6 REPLY message is received, the lifetime of the BST(Binding State Table) entry MUST be set to be MAX_ARP_PREPARE_DELAY or MAX_DAD_PREPARE_DELAY respectively.

What is saviObjectsSystemMaxDadPrepareDelay?

This object sets the lifetime, per the source description, assigned to a Binding State Table entry when a DHCPv4 DHCPACK or DHCPv6 REPLY message is received. Admins tune this constant to control how long a binding created from a completed DHCP address assignment remains valid before requiring reconfirmation. A shorter configured value would cause the device to more aggressively re-validate DHCP-derived bindings, at the cost of more frequent binding churn.
