Description: smcHrDevCount define items that are outside of the normal numeric range: other(-1), unknown(-2). PWG define count unit in printer mib(RFC1759, RFC3805). Default value is sheet(8), but specifically use impression (for example OEM Model).

What is scmHrDevCountUnit?

This read-only enumerated value reports the counting unit (defaulting to sheet, per PWG printer MIB conventions from RFC1759/RFC3805, though some OEM models use impression) for a usage-count entry, using other(-1) and unknown(-2) for values outside the normal range. Admins check this to correctly interpret whether a count entry represents physical sheets or printed impressions, which differ for duplex jobs. For example, a device reporting the unit as 'impression' would count each printed side separately even on a duplexed sheet.
