rabtEncryptionEnable

Module: RoamAbout-MIB

OID (symbolic): RoamAbout-MIB::rabtEncryptionEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.36.2.18.35.13

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Used to enable or disable encryption of the wireless radio signals if the installed PC Card supports encryption, and the Access Point is in the 'trusted' security mode. After changing this value, it will not be loaded onto the card until reset is performed.

This value varies from wliEncSelect in that it shows the future value of the encryption mode after the next reset, and wliEncSelect is read-only.

If the Access Point is in the 'non-trusted' security mode, this parameter cannot be set via SNMP, only through the console port.

What is rabtEncryptionEnable?

Setting this to enable(2) turns on wireless radio encryption if the installed PC card supports it and the AP is in 'trusted' security mode; a reset is needed before the change takes effect on the card. Unlike the read-only wliEncSelect, this object shows the pending future encryption state; in 'non-trusted' mode it can only be changed via the console, not SNMP.
