rohcRtpContextSizesUsed

Module: ROHC-RTP-MIB

OID (symbolic): ROHC-RTP-MIB::rohcRtpContextSizesUsed

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.114.1.1.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-only

Description: The value of this object is only valid for decompressor contexts, i.e., if rohcInstanceType of the corresponding rohcContextEntry has the value decompressor(2). For compressor contexts where rohcInstanceType has the value compressor(1), this object MUST NOT be instantiated.

This object contains the number of different packet sizes that are used in the context.

What is rohcRtpContextSizesUsed?

This counter, valid only on decompressor contexts, reports how many of the allowed packet sizes are actually being used in this ROHC context. An admin would compare it to rohcRtpContextSizesAllowed to spot a mismatch — if fewer sizes are used than allowed, the compressor may not be taking full advantage of the negotiated size options, which matters when troubleshooting compression efficiency. For example, if rohcRtpContextSizesAllowed is 3 but rohcRtpContextSizesUsed is 1, the compressor is only ever sending one packet size even though three were negotiated.
