Description: The status of this protocol directory entry.

An entry may not exist in the active state unless all objects in the entry have an appropriate value.

If this object is not equal to active(1), all associated entries in the nlHostTable, nlMatrixSDTable, nlMatrixDSTable, alHostTable, alMatrixSDTable, and alMatrixDSTable shall be deleted.

What is protocolDirStatus?

This field controls whether a protocol entry is active, inactive, or being created. Operators set this to 'active' to start monitoring a protocol or 'destroy' to remove it and all its associated data. An entry cannot be active unless all its configuration fields have valid values.
