Description:

When this object is set to a non-zero value, the filter that it is associated with will discard the packet if the packet doesn't match this protocol directory entry.

What is filterProtocolDirLocalIndex?

This is a number (0 to 2147483647) you set to specify a secondary protocol match requirement for this filter; non-matching packets are dropped. Engineers combine this with the primary protocol filter to narrow traffic capture to very specific protocol combinations or nested protocols. For instance, you could filter for IP packets that contain TCP traffic only.
