Description: This object controls which alMatrix[SD/DS] entry that the alMatrixTopNEntries are sorted by, which view of the matrix table that will be used, as well as which table the results will be reported in.
The values alMatrixTopNTerminalsPkts, alMatrixTopNTerminalsOctets, alMatrixTopNTerminalsHighCapacityPkts, and alMatrixTopNTerminalsHighCapacityOctets cause collection only from protocols that have no child protocols that are counted. The values alMatrixTopNAllPkts, alMatrixTopNAllOctets, alMatrixTopNAllHighCapacityPkts, and alMatrixTopNAllHighCapacityOctets cause collection from all alMatrix entries.
This object may not be modified if the associated alMatrixTopNControlStatus object is equal to active(1).
What is alMatrixTopNControlRateBase?
This is a selection that chooses which metric (packets or bytes) and which hosts (all, or only terminal hosts) to sort the top-N report by. Engineers use this to rank host conversations by bandwidth or packet count and filter to only leaf nodes in the network. Setting it controls whether the report captures all protocols or just end-user traffic.
