etherHistoryUtilization

Module: RMON-MIB

OID (symbolic): RMON-MIB::etherHistoryUtilization

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.16.2.2.1.15

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-only

Description:

The best estimate of the mean physical layer network utilization on this interface during this sampling interval, in hundredths of a percent.

What is etherHistoryUtilization?

This OID stores a percentage value (as hundredths, so 5000 means 50%) representing how much of the network interface's available bandwidth was actually used during a sample period. It tells operators how heavily a network link is being utilized. A network manager checking this value would identify bottleneck links that consistently run at high utilization and need capacity upgrades.
