What is ipForwardNextHop?
This is the IP address of the next-hop router that traffic matching this forwarding entry should be sent to, or 0.0.0.0 if the route is not a remote route. Admins check it to trace the actual path a packet will take, confirming traffic to a given destination is being forwarded to the intended gateway rather than an unexpected or stale next hop. For example, an entry for destination 0.0.0.0 with this value set to 203.0.113.1 tells an admin that all default-routed traffic is being sent to that upstream router.
