Description: The maximum number of routing descriptors allowed in an All Paths or Spanning Tree Explorer frames.

What is dot1dSrPortHopCount?

This object sets the maximum number of routing descriptors allowed in an All Paths Explorer or Spanning Tree Explorer frame on this port. Admins tune it to limit how many hops a source-routed explorer frame can traverse before the bridge stops forwarding it, controlling explorer frame propagation across a Token Ring source-routed network. Lowering it from 14 to 8 would restrict explorer frames to shorter paths.
