rsOspfSpfHoldInterval
Module: REDSTONE-OSPF-MIB
OID (symbolic): REDSTONE-OSPF-MIB::rsOspfSpfHoldInterval
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2773.2.14.1.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-write
Description: The minimum amount of time that must elapse between shortest-path-first recalculations.
Reducing this value can cause an immediate SPF recalulation if the new value is less than the current value of rsOspfSpfHoldTimeRemaining and other SPF-inducing protocol events have occurred.
What is rsOspfSpfHoldInterval?
This sets the minimum number of seconds that must pass between successive OSPF shortest-path-first (SPF) recalculations, throttling how often the router redoes its routing computation in response to topology changes. Administrators tune this to balance responsiveness to network changes against CPU load from overly frequent SPF runs, noting that lowering this value can trigger an immediate recalculation if enough time has already elapsed under the old, higher value. Reducing this object from 5 seconds to 1 second on a router with a rapidly changing topology would let it react to link changes faster, at the cost of more frequent CPU-intensive SPF runs.

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2773.2.14.1.1.3.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> REDSTONE-OSPF-MIB::rsOspfSpfHoldInterval.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2773.2.14.1.1.3.1 i <value>
