Description: The ifIndex value which identifies the local interface through which the next hop of this route should be reached. A value of zero means the router should automatically determine the interface through which the specified next-hop address is reached.

An implementation may disallow non-zero values from being configured.

What is rsIpRouteStaticIfIndex?

Optionally pins this static route to a specific outgoing interface by ifIndex; a value of zero (the default) lets the device automatically determine the interface based on the next-hop address, and some implementations may not allow a non-zero value at all.
