apsChanStatus

Module: RBN-APS-MIB

OID (symbolic): RBN-APS-MIB::apsChanStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2352.2.5.1.4.2.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Bits

Access: read-only

Description: Indicates the current state of the port.

lockedOut

This bit, when applied to a working channel, indicates that the channel is prevented from switching to the protection line. When applied to the null channel, this bit indicates that no working channel may switch to the protection line.

sd

A signal degrade condition is in effect.

sf

A signal failure condition is in effect.

switched

The switched bit is applied to a working channel if that channel is currently switched to the protection line.

What is apsChanStatus?

This is a bitmask reporting the channel's current protection-switching condition: locked out from switching, signal degrade, signal failure, and whether it is presently switched to the protection line. An admin reads it to see live channel health, such as whether traffic is actively riding the backup path. For example, having both the sf and switched bits set means the channel suffered a signal failure and has already switched over to protection.
