Description: A count of Signal Failure conditions that have been detected on the incoming signal. This condition occurs when a loss of signal, loss of frame, AIS-L or a Line bit error rate exceeding 10^-3 is detected on an incoming line.
What is apsChanSignalFailures?
This counts the number of Signal Failure conditions detected on the incoming line, covering loss of signal, loss of frame, AIS-L, or a bit error rate exceeding 10^-3. These are more severe events than signal degrades and typically cause the channel to switch over to protection. For example, a sudden increment in this counter after a fiber cut would explain a subsequent apsChanSwitchovers increase.
