apsChanGroupName

Module: RBN-APS-MIB

OID (symbolic): RBN-APS-MIB::apsChanGroupName

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2352.2.5.1.4.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: A textual name for the APS group which this channel is included in.

This object may not be modified if an instance of apsConfigName exists with the same value and the associated apsConfigRowStatus object is equal to active.

If the channel is not part of an APS group this value is set to a string of size 0.

This field can be changed from a string of size 0 to a value of apsConfigName which has an associated apsConfigRowStatus object which is not set to active. This action includes the SONET LTE into the inactive APS group.

This field can be changed from a string of size 0 to a value which is not equal to any existing instance of apsConfigName. This action is the initial step in adding a SONET LTE to a new APS group. An instance of apsConfigName equal to this instance of apsChanGroupName will subsequently be created.

If this field is set to any non-empty string it may only be set to a string of size 0. If an attempt is made to set this field from a non-empty string to another non-empty string the error inconsistentValue will be returned. This prevents a manager from inadvertantly re-assigning a channel.

What is apsChanGroupName?

This is the name of the APS protection group that a SONET LTE interface (channel) belongs to; an empty string means the channel is not currently part of any group. An admin sets this to enroll the channel into a named APS group, either an existing inactive one or a brand-new one, but the value can only be cleared and then reassigned, never changed directly from one non-empty name to another. For example, setting it to "aps-group-1" adds this SONET interface into that protection group.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> RBN-APS-MIB::apsChanGroupName

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2352.2.5.1.4.2.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> RBN-APS-MIB::apsChanGroupName.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2352.2.5.1.4.2.1.2.1 s <value>
