radiusAccClientExtRequests

Module: RADIUS-ACCT-CLIENT-MIB

OID (symbolic): RADIUS-ACCT-CLIENT-MIB::radiusAccClientExtRequests

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.67.2.2.1.1.4.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter32

Access: read-only

Description: The number of RADIUS Accounting-Request packets sent. This does not include retransmissions. This counter may experience a discontinuity when the RADIUS Accounting Client module within the managed entity is reinitialized, as indicated by the current value of radiusAccClientCounterDiscontinuity.

What is radiusAccClientExtRequests?

This read-only counter, in packets, tallies the number of RADIUS Accounting-Request packets sent to this server, not counting retransmissions, in the current version-neutral (IPv4/IPv6) table, and may show a discontinuity indicated by radiusAccClientCounterDiscontinuity if the accounting client module reinitializes. Admins use it as the baseline accounting traffic volume against a given server, comparing it to radiusAccClientExtResponses to gauge server responsiveness. For example, a steady climb in this counter during business hours confirms the client is actively generating accounting requests toward that server.
