Description: Manages D-Link RADIUS accounting server configuration, client authentication records, and session accounting data.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is RADIUS-ACCOUNTING-MIB?
RADIUS-ACCOUNTING-MIB is a D-Link enterprise-proprietary MIB for managing RADIUS accounting server configuration and session accounting on D-Link network devices. It belongs to the network access/AAA (authentication, authorization, accounting) software area and exposes state objects covering the RADIUS accounting subsystem's shell, system, and network-level operational state, alongside overall accounting control. Its monitoring relevance is software service status: confirming the RADIUS accounting service is enabled and operating correctly at the shell, system, and network layers, which reflects whether client authentication session records are actively being logged for billing or compliance purposes. It has an implicit relationship to the general RADIUS client/server standards (RFC 2866-family accounting) that this proprietary module manages configuration for on D-Link gear. It is typically deployed on D-Link switches or wireless controllers that authenticate and account for client sessions via a RADIUS accounting server. Engineers can download the RADIUS-ACCOUNTING-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RADIUS-ACCOUNTING-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- D-Link managed switch
- D-Link wireless controller
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll accountingShellState, accountingSystemState, and accountingNetworkState to confirm the RADIUS accounting feature is enabled and running consistently across the CLI/shell, system, and network subsystems of the device. radiusAccountCtrl would be checked or set to globally enable/disable RADIUS accounting, and an unexpected disabled state on any of the three layer objects while accounting is expected to be active would indicate accounting records are not being generated, risking gaps in session billing/compliance logs.
What Can Be Monitored
- RADIUS accounting enable/disable control
- accounting shell-layer state
- accounting system-layer state
- accounting network-layer state
